Each newsletter features programs offered for adults 55+ during those two months. A full list of our offered programs per season can be found in the Park District's Recreation Guide. AARP Tax assistance - 2026

FREE AARP Tax assistance will once again take place at Lincoln Center in the Winter 2026. Appointment scheduling will begin Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis by calling 630.960.7500 or in-person at the Lincoln Center (935 Maple Avenue) or Recreation Center (4500 Belmont Road). Registration is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Tax appointments will be located at the Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Avenue and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 5 through April 9, 2026.

Once your appointment is scheduled please review the 2026 Tax Aide Instructions and Intake Form available through the link below.  The instructions will provide information on where to go for your appointment, as well as what you will need to bring with you. You are ask to bring a completed Intake form with you to the appointment, which is located at the bottom of the instruction booklet. You can either print and fill out the intake form or you can stop by the Lincoln Center Mondays through Fridays from 9:00am to 4:00pm to pick up an instruction booklet and intake form to fill out prior to your appointment.

After each film there will be a list of provided discussion questions and you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts about the movie (this part is completely optional). Whether you're a film aficionado or simply enjoy movies, you're sure to find each Cinema Club both entertaining and enlightening. Scarlett Bloomers of Downers Grove

Ladies! Join the Scarlett Bloomers revolution! From monthly themed luncheons and slumber-less overnight parties to weekly game clubs and luncheon trips, the Downers Grove Park District Scarlett Bloomers does it all. Meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at the Lincoln Center from 1:00 - 3:00pm.


Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride is a curb-to-curb shared ride service for Downers Grove Township residents who are 65 and over. It is also a service for qualified persons with disabilities of any age. In order to ride Dial-A-Ride you must have a permanent address in Downers Grove Township. Motels, hotels, extended stays and temporary housing are not eligible for our Dial-A-Ride service. Appointments for rides are two days in advance for personal trips and seven days in advance for medical appointments within the Township of Downers Grove area. Service is provided from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The fare is $3 for each one-way ride. New limited service on holidays--$5 fare one way on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In order to use the service, riders must have a valid RTA or ADA card. Questions and registration contact the Township at 630.719.6670.
