Tumble Tots
Explore the beginning of tumbling as a parent-child duo. This high-energy, interactive class promotes important gross motor development and is great for toddlers working on muscle coordination and confidence. Structured and unstructured activities are included.
- Tumble Tots I: Ages 18 to 30 months with parent
- Tumble Tots II: Ages 2.5 to 3.5 years with parent
Little Tumblers
Kids will increase skills in strength, flexibility, coordination and self-confidence as they tumble, balance, and have fun. This class includes skill-building activities to develop rolls, cartwheels and handstands.
- Little Tumblers: Ages 3.5 - 4 years
Tumble Kids
Build confidence and strength through basic tumbling skills. This class will focus on proper technique for forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands.
- Tumble Kids: Ages 5 - 6 years
Mighty Tumblers
Designed for kids with previous tumbling experience who can execute cartwheels, round-offs and handstands. This class will focus on backbends, limbers and walkovers.
- Mighty Tumblers: Ages 7 - 9 years
Tumble Together Play Time
This open house style play time is designed to provide a positive play time experience for children. Parents/caregivers supervise their child(ren) as they play on gymnastics mats and equipment. A variety of preschool skill building mats and other preschool gymnastics equipment is available. This is an open play program, no instruction is provided. An adult must stay to supervise.
- Tumble Together Play Time: Ages 10 months - 4 years
Fencing lessons with Fencing Sports Club cover the basics of relaxed and explosive moves and critical thinking between attack and defensive strategies. All equipment is provided. Skill level of fencers are managed by the coach.
Seven Bridges Ice Arena (S.B.I.A.) has the basic philosophy that anyone can learn to ice skate if they try their best. All ice skating programs feature experienced instructors and free practice time. For practice times and further information, please contact Seven Bridges at 630.271.4400.
Shotokan Karate
Children and Adults universally enjoy learning the art of karate. Classes are taught by Illinois Shotokan Karate Club's expert instructors under the direction of John Di Pasquale, four-time National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach and President of the National Karate Federation of the US. Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. Youth, Parent/Child and Adult Classes may train together.
Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is headquartered in Palatine, and has grown to serve 75 park districts around the Chicagoland area. The club offers recreational weekly classes taught by knowledgeable instructors, as well as opportunities to compete. In addition to four local tournaments hosted by ISKC each year, the club also offers the opportunity for students to compete in national and international tournaments. ISKC is known for their quality competitors and high level coaching. In 2013, the club had 28 athletes represent Team USA at the World Shotokan Karate Championships.
Taekwondo
Taekwondo, one of the newest Olympic sports, is a 2000-year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Students have the opportunity to improve concentration and self esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness, and learn self-defense skills. Classes are taught under the direction of G.Master Ki Hong Kim* (9th Dan Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters.) A $45.00 uniform fee is required at the first class. Belt testing is offered through The KH Kim Taekwondo at an additional fee and is held twice a year. All colored belt students are required to have complete sparring gears.

Park District tennis facilities are available at McCollum, Doerhoefer and Randall Parks.
Tennis Classes
Youth tennis classes will be offered in the spring, summer and fall seasons by Thunder and Lightning Sports.

Classes taught by Thunder and Lightning Sports encompass instruction on volleyball fundamentals, followed by engaging in enjoyable games and modified activities that apply the taught fundamental principles of volleyball. The focus is to take each individual student's skill to the next level under the guidance of an experienced coach.
Classes with All Star Sports are designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of a variety of sports in a fun and safe environment. Programs include T-Ball, Floor Hockey, Multi-Sports, Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer.
