2024 Master Plan Development
The Downers Grove Park District is embarking on an exciting journey as we kick off the development of a comprehensive Master Plan. By actively seeking input from our vibrant community through online surveys, engaging focus groups, and collaborative workshops, we aim to craft a dynamic, resident-driven roadmap for the future. This inclusive approach ensures that the plan will flex and adapt, shaping the District's parks, open spaces, amenities, facilities, and recreation programs to meet the evolving needs and desires of our diverse community.
2017 MASTER PLAN
In 2017, the Downers Grove Park District initiated a planning effort to develop a comprehensive Master Plan and Athletic Field Assessment. Community feedback was collected through a needs assessment, stakeholder interviews and focus group discussions. District staff provided guidance to the planning program and collaborated with the planning team throughout the process. The approach resulted in a flexible plan for the District's parks, open spaces, amenities, facilities, and recreation programs.
