Seedling Giveaway

Celebrate Arbor Day by helping to grow the urban canopy in Downers Grove! Choose to plant a red oak, swamp white oak, bur oak or shagbark hickory seedling in your own yard. Planting instructions will be provided. The seedling giveaway will be limited to a maximum of 2 per person while supplies last.

Here is a list of the trees we have to give away in 2023:

	Red Oak	Mature Height: 60-75 ft. Mature Width: 60-75 ft. Light Exposure: full to partial sun Soil Preference: Moist, well drained
	Swamp White Oak	Mature Height: 50-60 ft. Mature Width: 50-60 ft. Light Exposure: Full sun Soil Preference: Moist, well drained
	Bur Oak	Mature Height: 50 ft. Mature Width: 50 ft. Light Exposure: Full sun Soil Preference: Moist, well drained
	Shagbark Hickory	Mature Height: 60-80 ft. Mature Width: 30-50 ft. Light Exposure: Full sun or partial sun/shade Soil Preference: Moist, well-drained soil
