Dunham Place
Located at
Downers Grove, IL
Description
In November of 1984, the Park District and Village of Downers Grove met with members of the Farmingdale Dunham Place Community Association to discuss the future of this property. Once it was decided that the Park District would manage the property, a playground was installed and the land was dedicated as park property.
This large neighborhood park is situated immediately southwest of the intersection of Dunham Place and 71st Street. The park is comprised of several segmented parcels, many of which provide storm water detention, and is divided by the NICOR Gas easement and multiple residential streets. The two stormwater retention ponds located on the east side of the park provide opportunities for fishing, and an open lawn area south of the ponds contains play equipment accessible from Dexter Road.
