Construction of court improvements at McCollum Park will begin Monday, Aug. 3, with anticipated completion by the end of September.
Due to the continued popularity of pickleball, the center courts, originally designed as flexible-use courts, will be converted into eight permanent pickleball courts. The project also includes the installation of shade structures adjacent to the pickleball and tennis courts to provide greater comfort for players and spectators, as well as resurfacing the existing basketball courts.
During construction, the center courts and basketball courts will be closed. The three tennis courts in the north section and the eight pickleball courts on the south section will remain open as construction allows, however, the pickleball courts on the south section will be closed for a few days while the shade structures are being installed.
