A new playground is coming soon to Hoopers Hollow!
The current playground at Hoopers Hollow Park was installed in 2000 and is nearing the end of its life expectancy. Industry standards recommend that playgrounds be replaced periodically based on condition and compliance with changing safety and accessibility standards. The current playground consists of a play structure intended for children ages 5-12 and (3) swing bays for tots and school-aged children. All existing equipment will be removed to accommodate the new equipment. The existing border will remain and serve as the boundary for the new playground.
Public Open House
The Downers Grove Park District will host a Playground Open House meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019, at the Downers Grove Recreation Center located at 4500 Belmont Rd., Lower Level Multipurpose Room. New playground designs will be on display for review and public comment.
Feel free to stop by the park at any time during the Open House. Park District staff will be available during this time to answer questions and take your suggestions for further design development.
