The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot to beautify McCollum Park with $25,000 grant
Downers Grove, IL– In partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, the Downers Grove Park District is excited to announce a special Volunteer Day at McCollum Park on April 26, 2023. In anticipation of the opening of the new sprayground facility, 30 volunteers from Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, will work together to revitalize and beautify the park with $25,000 worth of supplies provided by The Home Depot Foundation. The park will undergo mulching, planting, and landscaping to create a welcoming environment for all visitors.
The Downers Grove Park District is deeply appreciative of The Home Depot Foundation’s generous grant, as well as the partnership with our local Home Depot store in Downers Grove that has made this project possible. The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both The Home Depot Foundation and the Downers Grove Park District to enhance the quality of life for local residents and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the community.
The upcoming Volunteer Day is expected to make a significant impact on McCollum Park, transforming the playground and surrounding areas in a vibrant and attractive space for families, friends and community members to continue enjoying prior to the opening of the new sprayground facility, scheduled to be opened later this summer. The new sprayground facility will further contribute to the park’s appeal, offering yet another fun and engaging outdoor experience for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
