The Downers Grove Park District is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Adventure Falls Sprayground and Mini Golf at McCollum Park on May 25, 2024. After an extensive park improvement project initiated in August 2022, this eagerly awaited attraction promises an exciting addition to the array of recreational offerings at McCollum Park.
Located at 6801 S. Main St. in Downers Grove, McCollum Park has long been a hub for outdoor activity, boasting an array of amenities like ball fields, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, a playground, a walking path, and a miniature golf course. As we step into 2024, a wave of excitement sweeps through the park with the addition of the Adventure Falls Sprayground, Mini Golf & Sport Courts.

Last summer marked a significant milestone with the completion and opening of the pickleball and tennis sport courts featuring new energy-efficient LED lighting with user-friendly push-button controls. Presented by Community Bank of Downers Grove, the sport courts include 8 dedicated pickleball courts, along with 3 dedicated tennis courts, complemented by an additional 3 tennis courts that can be converted to accommodate 8 temporary pickleball courts.
Opening on May 25, 2024, Adventure Falls Sprayground and Mini Golf will provide a diverse recreational haven for the community. Sponsored by Jackson Family Dentistry, the sprayground promises an immersive experience with dynamic spray features designed for various age groups. From the gentle sprays in the Tot Area for our youngest visitors to interactive water elements in the Family Area, and the ultimate teenage oasis in the Teen Area, Adventure Falls will offer an array of aquatic delights. For those moments of reprieve, comfortable lounge chairs and covered seating is the ideal spot to unwind and revel in the vibrant atmosphere.
Adventure Falls Mini Golf (previously known as Miner Mike’s Adventure Golf), will welcome putt-putters of all ages onto its course for some fun in the sun. Sponsored by Belmont Golf Club, visitors can anticipate enhancements such as upgraded synthetic turf and improved signage.
Discover the newly renovated plaza featuring picnic tables and benches conveniently situated near the concessions building. Whether visitors are seeking a casual gathering or planning a special celebration, Adventure Falls offers the perfect setting. Families and friends can create lasting memories with birthday parties, group outings, and private rentals, all available later this summer.
The Adventure Falls Sprayground and Mini Golf will operate daily from May 25 to Aug. 11. Residents can enjoy extended hours from 10am to 7pm, while non-residents are welcome from 1 to 7pm. For Downers Grove residents only, a Sprayground Season Pass will provide unlimited visits for $10 per child ages 2 to 15 and $5 for adults. Information on purchasing a season pass will be available online after April 15, 2024. Sprayground and Mini Golf daily admission will be available onsite for residents and non-residents. Children under 2 are free. Due to Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requirements, capacity of the Adventure Falls Sprayground is set at 200 persons at any one time.
