Satisfy your thirst for knowledge while having fun at the same time! The Downers Grove Museum offers history-related, week-long summer camps of varying topics to appeal to all ages and interests. Learn about interesting aspects of history or acquire a new skill through fun and engaging activities.

Participant Information form
If you child is attending Kinder Camp, Adventure Camp, Museum Camps or Lyman Woods camps, please complete a participant information form by clicking on the link below. Each registered participant must have a completed form submitted by the first day of camp. If you have multiple children attending camp, each camper must have their own form completed.
WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP EACH DAY
- Change of clothes
- 1 snack - only for Lyman Woods and Museum
- Filled re-fillable water bottle
- Face coverings for indoors
- Sunscreen (arrive already applied - sunscreen is for re-applying)
- Insect Repellant (arrive already applied)
- Art Supplies: please see the list below for the art supplies to bring each day in your camper's backpack.
In efforts to reduce the amount of shared supplies we are asking that every camper bring the following items to camp every day in his/her backpack. These items will be used by your camper ONLY and not shared. All other art supplies will be sanitized before and after each use.
- 1 box of crayons - box of 24 or less
- 1 box of washable markers
- 1 box of colored pencils
- 1 bottle of glue
- 2 glue sticks
- 3 pencils with erasers
- Blunt tipped scissors
WHAT TO WEAR TO CAMP EACH DAY
- Comfortable clothing that can get messy/wet/muddy
- Closed toed shoes/boots with socks
- Face covering/mask (recommended, but not required)
Cancellation/refund requests must be made the Monday prior to a camp session beginning (one week prior) in order to qualify for a full refund. Any requests made after that time will only be granted a refund if the spot is filled by a waitlisted participant or if accompanied by a doctor's note due to a medical reason. Notifications on the status of a refund request will be made by the Thursday prior to the start of camp.

Create your own museum exhibit, featuring yourself! After touring behind the scenes of the museum, learning about preservation techniques, and exploring your family's history, participants will combine what they learned to create an exhibit for a museum about themselves with assistance from museum staff!
TIME TRAVELER camp
June 28-July 2 | Ages 7-10
Do you ever wish you could travel back in time? Come along with us in the Museum Time Machine to discover what life was like in the past! Each day we will visit a new period in time and explore what life was like through hands-on activities, games and more.
TIVOLI AND TIE DYE
July 12-16 | Ages 7-10
Discover trends in pop culture and fashion through this hands-on camp. Participants will be learning about the evolution of movies, music, television, fashion and more, by examining the museum's archives and additional resources.
YOUNG EXPLORERS camp
July 19-23 | Ages 5-8
Young explorers, come join us on an adventure through history. We'll travel back in time to discover how lands were explored through fun hands-on activities and games.

Join us as we explore some of the most popular fairytales of the 1800s. We'll engage in fun activities and games relating to some of the more well known fairytales and learn a few differences between the stories told over 100 years ago to children and the ones still told today.
