Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program

This hands-on program will provide teens with the skills needed to be an effective leader when working with children. C.I.T.'s will work directly with camp staff by assisting with daily activities at Adventure Camp. It all starts with learning how to apply and interview for a summer job. From there, receive guidance in the areas of lesson planning, safety and organizational skills. This is a truly rewarding experience for young adults interested in working with children and serving as a role model. Fee includes T-shirt, all field trips and hands-on training. Applications will be available starting March 4 at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Avenue and the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Avenue, as well as online at dgparks.org. Applications for Counselor in Training positions must be submitted by April 26 to be considered. Selected candidates will be contacted to set up a time for a one-on-one interview. Applicants must be accepted into the program prior to registration. Must be available to attend mandatory C.I.T. orientation/training from 10am to noon on June 12 at the Lincoln Center.
