As an active fitness member, unlimited group exercise can be added to your membership. This add-on will allow you to take all classes on the Group Exercise Class Schedule. All participants must be 14 years of age and older. Reinstatement of your unlimited group exercise add-on within 6 months of cancelling the add-on will incur a $25 reinstatement fee.
Fee: $17 per month or $204 annual
Enrollment fees are for new members or if a membership has been inactive for more than 60 days. Enrollment fees are non-refundable and the maximum enrollment fee per household is $149, while all members remain active per membership year. If a new member is adding on to an existing membership the enrollment fee will be based on age: $79 for ages 23 and up, $49 ages 15-22 and $49 ages 62 and older. Enrollment fees must be paid in full at the time of sign-up.
If you choose the convenient payment plan option, the first month payment will be prorated from the date of sign-up to the date of the first monthly billing and will be due at the time of purchase. Payment plans are required to have an automatic withdrawal from a checking, savings or credit card to qualify. Memberships will remain active until a 30-day written notice of cancellation has been made to the Downers Grove Park District. Make fitness part of your workday with our local corporate rate. Full-time employees of any business that pays taxes to the Downers Grove Park District are eligible to purchase a Fitness Center annual membership at resident rates. Become a member before age 15! Teens aged 12 to 14 can get certified to be a Fitness Center member by completing a training program with a nationally certified personal trainer. View the personal training tab for details.

Kidzone is for guest children of the Recreation Center, 4500 Fitness and Downers Grove Golf Club patrons.
Kidzone can be paid for by the hour on an as-needed basis, or for unlimited Kidzone visits it can be added to a fitness membership.

The Kidzone Childcare Center is available year-round on a first-come, first-served basis for children ages 12 weeks to 12 years. Reservations ARE STRONGLY recommended. A maximum number of children are set per shift and a wait list is used if necessary. All children 12 years and younger must be in Kidzone, in a Recreation and Fitness Center program or under the direct supervision of their parent while in the facility, and parents must be in the facility while children are in Kidzone. Acupressure - is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of skin to stimulate the body's natural self-healing.
Deep Tissue- A deep penetrating technique such as structural integration affecting the sub-layer of muscles and fascia. This is more like a therapeutic impact- body manipulation of soft tissue.
Essalen Massage - Is known for its original honest nurturing, trance-like and meditative, allowing the greatest unfoldment to take place in a client.
Cranio-Sacral - Is a practice of palpation/palpating, sensing and manipulation of direct body electricity.
Reflexology - A system of massaging the feet or hands with the intention of affecting other parts of the body. The feet and hands are regarded much like maps of the body with points or reflex zones on the feet and hands corresponding to organs and tissues in the body. The purpose of reflexology is to bring the body in harmony and cause integrations of various energy in the body.
Seated Chair Massage - This system of bodywork refers to a 10 - 15 minute session of different style or techniques of pressure and yoga like stretches. Based routine done in a special chair in which the client sits facing towards cushions, exposing the scalp, shoulders, neck, back, and hips.
Shiatsu - It literally means finger pressure in the Japanese system of bodywork which uses pressure to points along acupuncture "meridians" that are invisible channels of energy flow in the body. Blocked energy along these meridians can cause physical discomforts. So the aim is it release the blocks and re-balance the energy flow.
Sports Massage - Is an adaptation of Swedish massage. Its purpose is to prepare athlete for sporting activity and help them recover from the exertion activity.
Swedish Massage - A vigorous system known as western or classic style of treatment designed to energize the body, mind and spirit; this is a pure relaxation treatment.

Rochelle is a Licensed Massage Therapist with a Certificate from the Wellness and Massage Training Institute. She graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors in Psychology. Rochelle has a great desire to deliver all the benefits of massage with her vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology of the human body. She practices a wide range of techniques including Swedish, range of motion, Myofascial, massage and reflexology.

John is a Licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Illinois and certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. He graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and studied massage therapy at the Advanced Anatomy Massage Academy in Villa Park. He is also a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and the Emergency Response Massage International team (ERMI); providing stress relief chair massage for first responders to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. John wants to help other people develop healthy lifestyles through massage and bodywork, including Swedish, sports, deep tissue, hot rock massage and seated chair as well as reflexology and craniosacral therapy. John has been a part of the Downers Grove Community since 1974.

Bonnie is a Licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Illinois and certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She graduated from the Wellness and Massage Therapy Institute in Illinois and is a certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. Her Bodywork experience includes relaxation of tired muscles, improving circulation and reducing overall stress. Bonnie wants to use her professional techniques to formulate the best treatment for your needs. Her Massage and Bodywork techniques include Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Pre-natal and seated chair massages. Bonnie has worked for the Downers Grove Park District since 1999.

Become a 4500 Fitness member before age 15! Teens ages 12 to 14 can get certified to be a Fitness Center member by completing a training program with an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer. This personalized training program includes three one-hour sessions focused on proper warm-up, strength, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, cool down, nutrition, fitness etiquette and safe and correct form on 4500 Fitness machines. Eligibility is determined by the personal trainer. Once you are certified you can purchase a 4500 Fitness membership and you no longer need a parent/guardian to be with you in 4500 Fitness. Participants who successfully complete Teen Fitness University can now sign up for a Fitness Membership with no enrollment fee if they do so within 30-days of completing the program.

Casey is certified through the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers and his goal is to educate and motivate his clients to a healthier life. He believes it's essential to meet his client where they're currently at in their fitness journey and take purposeful steps in the direction of their goals.
Anna is certified by the American Council of Exercise and is eager to help you experience the physical and emotional benefits of fitness. Her goals are to educate and motivate you and to help you define and achieve your fitness goals and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
Samantha has a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master's degree in Sports Nutrition, she is also certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. As a former collegiate volleyball player, she is very familiar with sports training and Olympic power lifts. She enjoys working with young athletes that are determined to improve their performance with training in the weight room along with clients who are interested in weight loss.
Jeanette has a Bachelor's degree in nutrition and is certified by the American Council on Exercise. Her focus is on helping you identify your fitness and weight loss goals and then designing a customized program to help you safely and effectively achieve them.
Pete is certified by the American Council on Exercise and is dedicated to providing you with the knowledge and motivation to achieve and maintain your fitness or sports performance objectives. Pete incorporates the latest health information and techniques into your customized training plan.

At 4500 Fitness SilverSneakers memberships include use of the Fitness Center and the indoor walking track. Group Fitness classes are not included.
Home Front Health is a program organized by SEASPAR. The program includes an annual membership to 4500 Fitness, social events and personal training sessions with Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainers, all free of charge to qualifying veterans (Downers Grove resident veterans with a disability rating of 10% or higher).

The suspended indoor track allows you to walk or run regardless of the weather. The three-lane track (9 laps = mile) overlooks the main gymnasium and offers views of the Downers Grove Golf Club.
