American Girl Doll Overnight - NEW! - Friday, March 2 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the Lincoln Center
It's party time for girls and their favorite American Girl Doll. Children bring their doll for a program of crafts, stories and energetic activities. Then dolls stay for an 'overnight party' filled with their own special fun. On Monday, children pick up their friends and receive a scrapbook of pictures showing all the fun!
Spring Break Escape - Monday through Friday, March 26 - 30 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Lincoln Center
Join us for awesome days filled with your favorite activities including field trips, games, sports, crafts and more. Meet new people, make new friends and have a good time! Registration must be made at least one week in advance.
27th Annual Road Rally - Saturday, April 21 at 3:30 PM - Various locations
Looking for adventure? Then you are sure to enjoy the challenge of the 27th Annual Road Rally. Grab your neighbors and friends to create a team of six adults per vehicle. You are given a map and bag of clues; you'll need teamwork, logic and luck to stay on track!
Bunny Hop & Egg Hunt - Thursday, April 5 from 6:30 - 7:45 PM at Lincoln Center
Spend the evening with your favorite Bunny! Children will make a craft, enjoy refreshments and party games. Don't forget your camera for a photo with our furry friend!
Flashlight Egg Hunt - Thursday, April 5 at 8:30 PM at Fishel Park
Grab your flashlights and head to Fishel Park where you'll search for candy stuffed eggs under the moonlight. Register before the deadline (March 30) and save! Bring your own flashlight.
Celebrate the Week of the Young Child with your family! - Monday, April 23 from 6:30 - 7:15 PM at Lincoln Center
Juggling Funny Stories with Chris Fascione
Introduce your child to a live theatre performance. This highly participatory, innovative show invites you and your child to be part of the story performances. Through a combination of storytelling, mime, juggling and comedy. Chris creates colorful characters while fun and laughter abounds.
Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Competition - Friday, May 4 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM at McCollum Park
Boys and girls showcase their ability in pitching, hitting and base running. Winners from each age group qualify for the sectional level competition which takes place mid-May to early June. Participants must provide a copy of a valid birth certificate for age verification upon registering.
Kids Outdoor Flea Market - NEW LOCATION! - Saturday, May 12 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Fishel Park
What are you going to do with all of those old games and toys cluttering up your room? Do some spring cleaning and bring your items to the Kids Flea Market. Picnic tables for merchandise are assigned and advertising is provided. Child and adult must be present for the entire event. The sale is just for kids' toys, sports equipment, games and collectibles. Spaces will be available at the new bandshell and under tents.
Passport to Safety - Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Recreation Center
Passport to Safety is in its 9th year providing safety tips to all ages! Sponsored by the Downers Grove Park District, Fire Department and Police Department, families can learn how to be safe in and around the home. Use your passport to meet local safety personnel and learn important safety tips to use every day. Receive a free prize once your passport is completely stamped.
School's Out Day of Play - January 16, February 20, February 25 & March 5 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM at the Lincoln Center
Join us for an exciting day of play on your day off from school. Each day consists of games, sports, arts & crafts and a field trip to popular local venues. Remember to bring your lunch. Registration must be made at least one week in advance.
