Adult Athletics

Adult Athletic leagues and programs are offered year round for players of all skill levels. Programs include basketball, soccer and Ultimate Frisbee and can be accessed in the box located above (click on Adult Conditioning to register). Indoor leagues include basketball, volleyball and dodgeball, located at the Recreation Center.

Outdoor leagues are held at McCollum Park and Doerhoefer Park, which include soccer, kickball, softball and sand volleyball. All leagues offer regular season play followed by a playoff for qualifying teams. Register as a team to participate in a league. If you do not have a full team, but are interested in playing, please call (630) 960-7250.

2012 Summer Adult Athletic Leagues

2012 Adult Summer Baseball League
Still think you can play some ball? Get your friends together form a team and get back out on the field. This league will play modified IHSA rules. The league will play each week on either a Saturday or Sunday in the morning or afternoon and play a 12 game schedule followed by playoffs at the end of the season. Some week night games will be played depending on field availability. Games each week will either be a double header or single game. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. A $100 deposit is required along with a preliminary roster, including team members names and address at time of registration. A copy of each players driver’s license is required if they are claiming residency status. Individuals wishing to be placed on a team may call the park district at 630.960.7250 before March 31 and leave their name and phone number to be given to any captain requesting additional players. If enough individual players are looking, a team may be made up of those players to play in the league. Mandatory Captain’s Meeting on Wednesday, June 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Rd.

2012 Men’s and Women’s Softball Leagues
All leagues play one evening each week during the 12 game regular seasons. Games are officiated with A.S.A. rules with local exceptions adopted. League play is tentatively scheduled to begin April 23 and end August 3. Teams may register at the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road, Downers Grove, anytime after their priority date on a first-come, first-served basis until all slots are filled. Register as soon as possible after your priority date.

Returning resident Teams with 51% of team members returning from the 2011 season and 60% of team members paying taxes to the park district or employed in Downers Grove may register beginning Saturday, January 28 at 9:00 am.

New resident teams with 60% of team members paying taxes to the park district or employed in Downers Grove may begin to register Saturday, February 4 at 9:00 am.

Returning nonresident teams with 51% of team members returning from the 2011 season may register beginning Saturday, February 11 at 9:00 am.

New nonresident teams may register beginning Saturday, February 18 at 9:00 am.

At the time of registration, a $100 deposit is due as well as a preliminary team roster, including names and addresses of all team members.
Roster forms are available at the Recreation Center and Lincoln Center or at www.dgparks.org. Registration will not be accepted without a completed roster. If you do not have a full team, but are interested in playing, please call the park district at 630.960.7250 before April 14 and leave your name and phone number which will be distributed to team captains at the pre-season meeting.
