Registration:
Online at www.active.com. Registration can also be mailed to or submitted in person at the Downers Grove Park District Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road, Downers Grove, IL 60515. All pre-registered entries must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.

Race Day Times:
Day-of-race registration takes place from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m.
Race begins at 7:30 a.m.
Male and Female Age Divisions:
Runners will be grouped by gender into one of the
following age categories for each distance:
| 14 years and younger | 35-39 years | 60-64 years |
| 15-19 years | 40-44 years | 65-69 years |
| 20-24 years | 45-49 years | 70-74 years |
| 25-29 years | 50-54 years | 75-79 years |
| 30-34 years | 55-59 years | 80 years and up |
This is a running event. For the safety of our runners, baby strollers, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades and dogs are strictly prohibited in the race.
Our Course:
The race starts and finishes at the intersection of Randall and Washington Streets. The 5-miler is a CARA competitive Runner’s Choice Series race and features a rolling course through scenic Downers Grove . The 5-mile course is 1 loop. Splits are given at each mile. Water stations at 1 ½, 3 ¾ and at the finish line. See Race Map above.
CARA:
This race was selected to be part of CARA’s 2013
competitive circuit of races, named the RUNNERS’ CHOICE CIRCUIT. CARA members can compete on this Circuit for year-end Overall, Age Group, Clydesdale/Athena (weight) and Club awards.
This race is a CARA CERTIFIED RACE. It has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
Due to CARA’s advocacy efforts, runners in the Chicagoland area enjoy some of the highest quality road races in the country. To view the Guidelines and to learn more about CARA, visit www.cararuns.org.
The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding, motivating, supporting and celebrating the running community of Chicagoland. CARA connects runners to resources that enable them to run – farther, faster, better, for life.
Race Packet Pick-up:
Race packets for pre-registered runners will be available Friday, June 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Avenue. Runners who wish to pick up their packet on Friday or Saturday must register by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.
Race packets will be available on the day of the race between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. Race packets will be held for
10 days after the race. Packets will not be mailed.

Awards:
Top male and female finishers receive plaques. Top three
male and female finishers in each age group receive
medals. Top male and female Downers Grove resident
finishers receive plaques. The first 500 registrants will
receive tech shirts.
Directions:
Lincoln Center is ½ block east of Main Street on Maple
Avenue. From I-88, exit Highland Avenue south,
Highland Avenue becomes Main Street, proceed to
Maple Avenue. From I-355, exit Ogden Avenue and go
east. Turn right (south) on Main Street, proceed to Maple
Avenue. From I-294, exit Ogden Avenue West, follow to
Main Street and turn left (south), proceed to Maple
Avenue. From I-55, exit Lemont Road north, Lemont Road becomes Main Street, proceed to Maple Avenue.
Parking:
Parking is available at the parking deck located in the
middle of the block surrounded by Curtiss Street, Maple
Avenue, Washington Street and Main Street. Check the
Village of Downers Grove website at www.downers.us for additional parking. Parking is NOT available at Lincoln
Center or the church lot at the corner of Maple Avenue
and Washington Street.
Volunteers:
Additional volunteers are needed. Pre-registered runners
who provide a volunteer prior to May 17 receive half-off
registration (registration refunded following race day).
