Downers Grove Park District Museum campus acquired historic home site
On Thursday, March 6, 2008, the Downers Grove Park District Board of Park Commissioners approved the relocation of the historic Blodgett House in conjunction with the Downers Grove Heritage Preservation Corporation. The Blodgett House was moved from its previous location of 812 Randall Street in Downers Grove, to the Downers Grove Park District Museum Campus at 831 Maple Avenue on May 5, 2008. Members of the Downers Grove Heritage Preservation Corporation (DGHPC) and the Downers Grove Park District have agreed that moving the structure known as "the 1846 Blodgett House" will facilitate the preservation and restoration of the historic structure.
